Izmir Metropolitan Municipality provides free, appointment-based, and, depending on need, face-to-face or online psychological support services in the areas of child, adolescent, adult, and couple/family counseling.

Application Requirements

There are no specific requirements for application. The essential thing is to be willing to receive psychological support.

  1. Request Creation: A request is created via the ALO 153 Citizen Communication Center.
  2. Feedback: Within a maximum of 30 business days, the Psychological Support Unit will contact our citizens. In this meeting, a preliminary assessment is made by the triage* team (*Triage means determining the person's needs through a preliminary assessment and directing them to the most appropriate service).
  3. Expert Assessment and Appointment Scheduling: The information obtained in the preliminary meeting is evaluated by experts. If deemed appropriate, referral will be made to the relevant Psychological Support Unit.
  4. Therapy Appointment: Citizens who have scheduled appointments go to the relevant center based on the appointment information provided to them and attend their appointment (Appointments last approximately 50 minutes).

  1. Attending the first appointment on time is important.
  2. In case of appointment cancellation or change, prior notification is required. If you do not attend the appointment without notification, the new appointment request may be postponed for approximately 6 months, depending on the reason.
  3. The specialist may decide to continue the consultations, refer the client to an in-house or out-of-house facility, or terminate the appointments after evaluating the client's needs. This practice is done to ensure the service is provided more effectively and accurately.
