WE WOULD LIKE TO INFORM YOU ABOUT THE LAW ON THE PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA.

In accordance with the provisions of the Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK), any information that identifies or makes you identifiable will be processed as "Personal Data" by the IZMIR METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY, acting as the Data Controller, within the scope described below. "Processing of Your Personal Data" refers to any operation performed on this data, such as obtaining, recording, storing, preserving, modifying, reorganizing, disclosing, transferring, acquiring, making available, classifying, or preventing the use of such data.

The personal data we process is described in detail in the final section of this document.

Purposes and Legal Grounds for Processing Your Personal Data:

Your personal data is processed by our institution in accordance with the laws and relevant regulations to be followed, for the purpose of providing services to you, carrying out our municipal services, identifying the owner and recipient of all kinds of work and transactions within this scope, and complying with the data retention, reporting and notification obligations stipulated to all authorized judicial and administrative authorities.

The purposes and legal grounds for processing your personal data are explained in detail in the final section of this document.

Method of Collecting Personal Data:

Your personal data is collected through various methods, including verbally, in writing, or electronically, via our institution, local service units, websites, mobile applications, call centers, kiosks, and through all declaration/information forms and other documents related to municipal transactions prepared with your approval and/or signature in accordance with the laws and other relevant regulations to which the Municipality is subject, and through notifications you make with your electronic approval and/or signature.

Sharing and Transferring Your Personal Data:

Your personal data processed by our institution may be transferred to individuals, institutions and/or organizations required/permitted by the laws and regulations we are subject to, to district municipalities for the purpose of carrying out the services provided to citizens, to universities, public institutions, non-governmental organizations within the scope of the relevant laws or with the approval of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Assembly, and to third parties from whom we receive services to carry out our municipal activities, within the framework of legal limitations, through a Protocol or Confidentiality Agreement.

The parties to whom your personal data is shared or transferred, the purpose of sharing or transfer, the legal basis for sharing or transfer, and, if applicable, information about the country to which the data is shared or transferred abroad are explained in detail in the last section of this document.

Your rights under Article 11 of the Law:

By applying to our institution, you can request the following for your personal data:

1. To find out if it has been processed,
2. Request information if it has been processed.
3. To learn the purpose of processing and whether it is being used for its intended purpose.
4. Knowing the third parties to whom it is transferred, domestically or internationally.
5. Requesting corrections if it is incomplete/incorrect.
6. Requesting deletion/destruction within the framework of the conditions stipulated in Article 7 of the KVKK (Personal Data Protection Law),
7. Requesting that the actions taken pursuant to clauses (d) and (e) be notified to third parties to whom personal data has been transferred,
8. You have the right to object to an unfavorable outcome resulting solely from analysis by automated systems.
9. If you suffer damages as a result of an unlawful act, you have the right to claim compensation for those damages.

Personal data owners can submit all their requests regarding their rights, including requests to withdraw explicit consent. www.izmir.bel.tr If applications are submitted through the e-transaction center and the application methods found under the "Personal Data Protection" section on the corporate website, requests are processed free of charge by our institution within a maximum of thirty days.

The Data Subject may submit their request, including necessary identification information and explanations, digitally via the e-transaction center at www.izmir.bel.tr, or by filling out the Application Form under the heading "Protection of Personal Data" and delivering a signed copy, along with identifying documents, in person to the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Secretariat, Mimar Sinan Mahallesi 9 Eylül Meydanı No:9/1 Kültürpark içi 1 no'lu Hol Konak PK:35250 Izmir, or sending it via notary public, or sending the completed form with a secure electronic signature to izmirbuyuksehirbelediye@hs01.kep.tr.
