In line with its Child-Friendly City vision, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality conducts the Izmir Children's Council activities to ensure the inclusion of children in local government mechanisms and their empowerment as active participants. The Council operates in five different commissions: Urban Rights, Social Activities, Nature and Ecology, Information and Technology, and Youth and Adolescent Participation. On this platform, children develop solutions to urban problems, discuss the climate crisis, and create projects on topics such as digital citizenship, thus directly interacting with the municipal administration.
