Izmir Metropolitan Municipality provides services through its Disability Service Centers at four different locations to support the active, independent, and productive participation of its disabled citizens in social life. These centers offer psychosocial counseling services as well as activities in various fields such as special education, handicrafts, dance, music, ceramics, boccia, table tennis, and scouting, all within the scope of the right to education. Furthermore, for adults with intellectual disabilities, Facilitated Reading and Writing Training (KOYE), sensory support training, and nature-based intervention programs are implemented to improve individuals' motor skills, social interaction, and self-expression abilities.
