Izmir Metropolitan Municipality provides a condolence service by delivering pita bread to citizens in the event of the death of a family member. As part of this service, after the official death certificate is created during the burial process, 40 standard pita breads and 40 glasses of ayran (yogurt drink) are delivered to the condolence address without the need for any further application. The main purpose of this service is to stand by our citizens during their time of grief, offer them material and moral support, and strengthen social solidarity.
